Blog vs. Wiki Blogs and wikis are web 2.0 technologies that allow creators to host an array of material from text to videos and music online.  Unlike previous web 1.0 technologies, they allow visitors to interact, contribute material and publish new content.   Understanding YouTube:  Turning viewers into buyers      I chose to do my research on YouTube: A Distribution Company.  YouTube is a big corporation in itself even though it is owned and operated under Google.  According to Forbes, it is the second largest search engine behind Google.  With three billion searches per month, it dwarfs Bing, Yahoo, AOL and Ask.com combined.        With such a large volume of searches and visits to its site, I began to wonder how YouTubers could be making money other than just the ad revenue.  According to the Influencer Marketing Hub, YouTube on average pays out the channel $18 per 1000 ad views which equates to about $3-$5 per 1000 video views.  So, unless your channel has millions of subscribers and views on a regular basis, the chances of making a living of off it is minimal to zero.  Therefore, the trend of YouTubers working as affiliates has skyrocketed where they give ...
